Frequently Asked Questions
> Who is your ideal client?
I currently support three categories of clients:
Investors: Cultivating Alpha
I advise portfolio managers and venture capitalists on developing deal flow, streamlining decision-making frameworks, and systematic risk management.Founders: Maximizing Leverage
I advise founder/CEOs on effective prioritization, installing performance systems, and removing roadblocks to scaling their business.Executives: Building Leadership
I advise executives in high-growth companies on driving a compelling vision, unlocking team ownership, and becoming effective managers.
These categories are just labels. If you have integrity, ambition, and long-term potential, I’d love to have an initial conversation with you.
I care a lot more about your sense of mission in life than what’s on your resume or business card. It’s not what you’ve done but where you’re headed that’s important.
> How long does coaching last?
I ask for an enthusiastic commitment to an initial three-month sprint. At the conclusion of the initial sprint, coaching automatically transitions to a month-to-month retainer.
I emphasize depth over breadth in my client relationships and prefer to be hands-on for maximum impact. Thus, I limit my coaching availability to ten clients at a time.
I hope for a long-term relationship where we grow together and continually upgrade to more interesting challenges.

If you are a potential fit, I’ll invite you to schedule a 60-minute coaching session. This is your opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a client. The price of this Initial Strategy Call is applied toward your first coaching retainer.Becoming a Client
If we both decide to move forward with a coaching relationship, I’ll send you an invitation to sign up by completing payment, reviewing a coaching agreement, and scheduling our North Star Session.
I want working together to be a “hell yes,” so this invitation is open for one week only.
That said, I’m on your timeline. If you decide now isn’t the right time, let me know and we can always check in again the next time I have coaching availability.
> Where and when do we meet?
We have coaching sessions every two weeks on average, ideally at a recurring time. This allows time for experimentation and observation between sessions.
All coaching sessions are conducted via Zoom with video preferred and are ~60 minutes long, except for our North Star Session, which is ~90 minutes.
My typical availability is Tuesday through Thursday, from 12 pm ET to 5 pm ET. If you need time outside of those hours, just let me know.
> What happens during a coaching session?
In our North Star Session, we’ll create our roadmap for the next three months, with a clear idea of where we are heading and how we are getting there.
Our typical sessions have three parts:
Accountability
Check in on action items from the last session. What’s working? What have you learned? What’s the next step?Opportunity Deep Dive
What is your top priority right now? What is most holding you back in this area? What is the next experiment to run?Review
What are you committed to doing and paying attention to between now and our next session?
Every three months, we have a Retrospective Session. In this session, we review progress made together and discuss potential opportunities for future success. We’ll explore what's working, what's not, and any changes you'd like to make to our coaching relationship.
> What happens after a coaching session?
After each session, I’ll email you an executive summary containing action items to complete, curated resources, and my session notes. I add the audio recordings to a private Drive folder in case you want to go back and listen to a session.
Your improvement speed is proportional to the tightness of your feedback loops. The more you experiment and share results, the better I can support you.
I check in with you weekly to offer support and hold your feet to the fire. I also am available for questions, feedback, and accountability between sessions via email or Slack with a 24-hour response time. Think of me as your wartime consigliere.
> How much time do I have to invest in coaching?
Like anything in life, you will get out of this what you put into it. You set your own speed limit.
Coaching includes not only our sessions but also the preparation, action items, and ongoing conversations. For best results, I would commit to investing at least two hours per week. (If two hours sounds challenging, you probably need more!)
It’s important to note that there is no “homework.” This is your life we are talking about! Everything you will do is in the category of “if I could” or “if I had the time.”
Well, now you can, and now you do.
> How do you see your role as a coach?
I aspire to be an objective third-party observer.
Objective:
My role is to provide an outside view and a clear perspective.
I leave my personal biases at the door and apply base rates wherever possible. I’ll share what seems to lead to success for other clients I’ve seen in a similar situation.
This might mean giving the obvious advice (if it’s so obvious, why aren’t you doing it?). Sometimes it’s pushing back on a comfortable narrative in favor of an uncomfortable reality.
Third-party:
My role is to draw out your top values and support you in embodying them, whatever they are.
I’m here in support of your inner scorecard; only you can decide what winning the game means to you.
Observer:
My role is to be a mirror, reflecting back what you might be too close to see.
I’m fully present in our sessions, trusting what I see and hear explicitly and implicitly. I look for your habitual patterns, assuming these patterns repeat in similar situations.
> What is the investment for coaching?
I work with clients via a retainer rather than a per-session fee.
For new clients, I ask for an enthusiastic commitment to a three-month sprint. The investment is $3,500/month or $3,000/month with upfront payment.
After the first three months, we automatically transition to month-to-month with lower rates available for a longer-term commitment.
> How long does it take to see results?
We start by taking the 10,000-foot view. What does success look like for you? How are we measuring progress? What is most holding you back?
I optimize for long-term sustainable changes over short-term boosts. It always takes time for old patterns to shift and for new systems to prove their value. Many clients report seeing compounding benefits from the principles, frameworks, and upgrades we create months and years down the road.
That said, with performance, there is almost always low-hanging fruit. Assuming you’re the type to take action, you’ll see an immediate impact after our very first session together.
